It was a holiday in National Capital Region and every one was excited to see the Pope. It was Thursday afternoon when He arrived and all I want is to see Him during His stay. I decided to attend the mass in Luneta, rather in University Sto. Tomas. I was blessed to have my buddy, Jill Siega, and I thanked her for patience and understanding me because of my attitude when I lack sleep.
We woke up 2:30 at the morning to prepare ourselves in going to Quirino Grandstand. We made our own baon and lunch. When we arrived at Rizal Park, there were already many people lined up, and some already slept in the area. Gate opened at 6:00 AM and I heard the excitement of the people surrounding me that they wanna see the Holy Padre. We were located at Quadrant F, not near the stage but I was just excited that time. An excitement that can't be explained. We waited for eight hours before the main event, and in between that it took three hourse to lined up before to use the comfort room, and we ate lunch at 2:00 in the afternoon under the rain with our new friends. Yes, it was already late, but what I look forward that time is to see him.
The mass started at 3 PM. Filipinos endure the cold weather. I can saw some were freezing, but if you'll asked them if they were still okay, they replied "Okay lang po ako." But we knew, they were not okay. The mass concluded and the pope rode on the pope mobile and greeted the people. I was planning to capture a photo or video, but I didn't. When he passed, I was just looking at him and his contagious smile. It was a truly a blessing to saw him. The long hours of waiting is all worth it. The memorable seconds or minute of my life was when he passed on our quadrant. All I can say that time was Praise God! Siksik liglig af nag-uumapaw na grasya, kilig, saya, at pagmamahal ng Diyos.
Thank You Pope Francis for visiting our country. Mabuhay ka! See you soon, again.
